The minimum instrument requirement is as follows:
One 30” or larger gong. No wind gongs. We suggest a gong made of nickel silver, or a bronze chau gong. We do not recommend gongs made of stainless steel or other materials.
Gong mallets - Beginner mallet set. This incluces one large and two small or medium (made for nickel silver gongs).
Three crystal singing bowls. At least one must be in the third octave and the rest in the fourth octave.
Two crystal singing bowl mallets that allow playing on the rim and the side (you may need two different mallets)
We recommend adding the following for a more complete beginner setup:
Two additional crystal singing bowls so you have a set of 5 bowls. At least two should be in the 3rd octave and the rest in the 4th octave.
One complementary instrument. Options are a standalone rainmaker, bead drum (also known as wave drum), or percussion tube.
